Here are the Morocco law firm checklists to tick with your team: ethics, website, Google profile, legal content, enquiry handling and confidentiality. Every unticked box becomes an action, with an owner and a date.
In Part 1, we set the frame: key figures, budget worksheet, indicators and a 90-day plan. This second part is the working tool.
This guide is for information only and is not legal or ethical advice. If in doubt, check with your bar president (bâtonnier) or bar council.
1. Morocco law firm checklists: ethics and communication
- The communication rules of your profession and bar have been reread.
- A lawyer or partner approves every piece of content before publication.
- No text promises an outcome or a success rate.
- No content compares the firm with other firms.
- No direct solicitation: no private messages to strangers, no ads targeting people in difficulty.
- Fees are never presented as a promotional offer.
- If in doubt, the strategy has been submitted to the bar president or bar council.
- For an advisory firm that is not a law firm, the rules of its own activity have been checked.
2. Firm website
- The home page says clearly who you are, where you are and which areas you cover.
- Each practice area has its own page, written in plain language.
- The team is presented with titles and bar of registration, where the profession allows.
- Address, phone, opening hours and directions are visible.
- Key pages exist in French, Arabic and, if you serve foreign or diaspora clients, English.
- The site loads fast on mobile and the form works.
- Legal notices and the privacy policy are online.
Our website development service can handle a three-language site.
3. Google profile and directories
- The Google Business Profile is claimed in the firm's name.
- Name, address and phone are identical on the profile, the website and directories.
- The main category matches your actual activity.
- Opening hours, including public holidays, are up to date.
- Simple photos of the office and entrance help people find you.
- Reviews receive a courteous reply that reveals nothing about any matter.
- You are listed in the professional directories your profession allows.
4. Legal content and LinkedIn
- A list of useful topics has been drawn from clients' frequent questions.
- Articles explain the law in general terms, with no personal advice.
- Each article states that it does not replace a consultation.
- The firm's LinkedIn page is complete: description, practice areas, address, website.
- Partners have LinkedIn profiles consistent with the website.
- The publishing rhythm is realistic: two careful articles a month beat ten empty posts.
- No client matter is mentioned without written consent.
We can go through them with you, box by box, and prepare a realistic plan.
5. Handling enquiries and confidentiality
- Every enquiry gets a reply within an announced time.
- The form asks only for what is necessary: name, phone, email, general subject.
- A consent box and a link to the privacy policy are present (Law 09-08).
- Data processing has been declared to the CNDP where required.
- Enquiries are stored in a secure tool with limited access.
- Discussions about a matter do not go through shared groups or accounts.
- An acknowledgement message states that no advisory relationship exists before the matter is accepted.
Frequently asked questions
Can a lawyer in Morocco have a website and a Google profile?
Providing information about the firm, its areas and contact details is generally accepted; advertising and solicitation are the problem. Check your bar's rules and, if in doubt, consult your bar president.
Can we post on LinkedIn?
Sober, educational content approved by a lawyer is the safest route. Avoid any direct solicitation and any reference to a matter.
How should we reply to a negative review?
Briefly and politely, without ever confirming that someone is a client or mentioning a matter.
Do we need a site in Arabic and English?
If you serve Arabic-speaking, foreign or diaspora clients, yes for the key pages: firm, practice areas and contact.
Do these rules apply to an advisory firm?
Not always. A legal or tax advisory firm that is not a law firm has different rules. Check the ones that apply to your activity.
